Departments will upload documents Dean’s Academic Board (DAB) form to SharePoint for all new appointments, reappointments, and promotion requests, as follows.
1. Tenure-track/Tenure Line Faculty: Documents to be sent to The Office of Faculty Affairs at Geisel and the Provost (electronically, unless otherwise indicated):
- Appointments
- Faculty member’s CV
- Signed offer letter
- Three letters of recommendation from external reviewers
- Reappointments
- Faculty member’s CV
- A justification for continued appointment at rank
- Promotions (uploaded to Interfolio)
- Candidate’s full portfolio, including all letters, CV, teaching evaluations; excluding copies of publications.
- The package for the Provost will also include the letter of support from the Dean.
- For candidates being considered for tenure, a separate package will be prepared for the President and Board of Trustees that includes
- Letter of support from the Dean
- The candidate’s CV
- Candidate’s full portfolio, including all letters, CV, teaching evaluations; excluding copies of publications.
2. Non-tenure and AMS Line Faculty:
- New Appointments (SharePoint):
- Signed Offer Letter and DAB form (Non-tenure Line);
- Terms of Appointment Statement and DAB form (AMS Line)
- Reappointments:
- DAB to SharePoint
- Promotions:
- AMS Faculty Line:
- for advancement to Associate Professor/Professor (Interfolio): (see Appendix 5 and associated checklists)
- for advancement from Instructor to Assistant Professor: updated CV (indicating criteria for appointment have been met) and change in title DAB form uploaded to SharePoint
- Non-tenure Faculty Line:
- for advancement to Associate Professor/Professor (Interfolio): (see Appendix 5 and associated checklists)
- for advancement from Lecturer to Senior Lecturer: Submit CV and Chair's Letter of Support to Dean of Faculty Affairs
- AMS Faculty Line:
3. Voluntary (Adjunct and Clinical) Faculty Lines
- New Appointments: Adjunct/Clinical Faculty Request Form (Clinical Faculty Line for those engaged in providing instruction related to clinical care (UME/GME) and Adjunct Faculty Line for those engaged in teaching/research outside of clinical care)
- Reappointments: Adjunct/Clinical Faculty Request Form (Clinical Faculty Line for those engaged in providing instruction related to clinical care (UME/GME) and Adjunct Faculty Line for those engaged in teaching/research outside of clinical care)
- Promotions:
- Adjunct Faculty Line: Change in title DAB through SharePoint with appended notification of promotion in non-Geisel department at Dartmouth or at home institution
- Clinical Faculty: Submit CV and Chair's Letter of Support to Dean of Faculty Affairs (The Office of Faculty Affairs)
