Faculty Development at Geisel comprises Faculty Development Workshops, the Knowledge@Noon series of workshops, Mentoring and Coaching and financial support for our faculty seeking development opportunities outside of Dartmouth College and Dartmouth Health.
Faculty Development Workshops
Faculty Development Workshops are held monthly. Topics are gathered from a variety of sources, including the annual survey of all faculty. Workshops are advertised 4 weeks in advance and registration is required. Workshops are recorded and posted, and require sign in with your NetID to view. The Knowledge @ Noon series of workshops are hour long lunch and learn sessions which are also recorded and posted for viewing

A collaborative group that support and promote the collegial spirit of the Geisel Community
Mission
The Geisel Women in Medicine and Science group is dedicated to empowering and inspiring women to thrive in medicine and science through mentorship, advocacy, and collaboration.
Goals
Using internal and external expertise and networking, we will support women to thrive as leaders, innovators, and role models in medicine, research, and healthcare delivery.
Additional Faculty Development Resources
Faculty Affairs is pleased to support participation and funding in selective External Faculty Development Opportunities.
Faculty must meet the following criteria for sponsorship eligibility:
- Have a Geisel faculty appointment (full-time, 1.0 FTE)
- Appointed at Geisel for at least six months.
- Must be submitted at least 30 days in advance of program application.
- The department chair must approve and sign the form.
- Submission of the form does not result in automatic approval. It must be reviewed by the Office of Faculty Affairs.
- Faculty receiving funding will be supported once per three-year cycle, per department.
- Approval of travel support and amount provided is dependent on availability of funds.
Interested Geisel faculty should complete the Geisel-Application-for-Faculty-Development-Travel_-Feb-2024 Fillable PDF and submit it to Geisel Faculty Affairs.
