Summer Research Opportunities

According to the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC), summer research programs across medical schools aim to help students gain early exposure to the research process, develop essential skills, and explore potential academic and clinical career paths. These programs often include mentored research experiences, professional development workshops, and opportunities to present research findings.

Summer research at Geisel is committed to fostering the development of future leaders in the biomedical sciences. The program provides a multidisciplinary, inclusive learning environment designed to support students from diverse backgrounds and research interests. Once accepted into the program, student will be matched with a faculty mentor based on your desired area of research.

If you would like to get a recommendation letter for summer research programs/fellowships/projects from the Office of Medical Student Research , please submit the following materials :
  • CV
  • The exact programs/fellowships and their sponsoring organizations, societies, or associations, along with submission deadlines
  • Personal statement
