2026 Summer Research Work Study Grants

If you are planning a summer project in the Upper Valley (whether that be at Geisel/DH/WRJVA/or other community practice) we encourage you to apply for federal work study grant funds.  $2500 will be provided per student for summer research.  The major requirements are that you must be receiving financial aid at Geisel and that you are working on-site in the Upper Valley for the summer project.

Application form Summer Fellowship Application 2026

The deadline to apply this year is April 17, 2026.  It is important to make sure you complete both your aid application, as well as the Summer Fellowship Application by this deadline. Also note that your Dartmouth Faculty Sponsor needs to sign this form, as well as provide a project description and your role within that project. Once you’ve completed your form, please email it back. Stipends have historically been a total of $2,500 paid in installments August 1 and September 1.

The requirements to receive funding:

  • A completed financial aid application
  • You must complete the full 200 hours of work in the Upper Valley, this is non-negotiable.
  • Payment is for ONE job; we will not accept applicants who have more than one job to make up the 200 hours.
  • You may NOT receive funding from another source in addition to this stipend for this specific job. These stipends are federal work study funded and are intended to be the sole source of income for your project.
  • You MUST present a poster at the annual Poster Presentation Event.
  • Payroll documents MUST be completed PRIOR to the start of your work.
