Dr. Timothy Gardner grew up in Newtown, CT and graduated from Dartmouth College and the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. He completed his internal medicine, chief medical residency and gastroenterology fellowship training at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center and a subspecialty fellowship in clinical pancreatology at Mayo Clinic Rochester. He has a masters degree in clinical research from the Dartmouth Institute. He is a professor of medicine at the Geisel School of Medicine. He is currently the director of pancreatic disorders, co-director of the advanced therapeutic endoscopy fellowship and medical director of the Dartmouth islet cell transplant program at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. He is the inaugural assistant dean of medical student research at Geisel. He was the general gastroenterology fellowship program director at DHMC for 8 years from 2016-24. He has won numerous teaching and research awards and is routinely named as a Top Doctor in New Hampshire by NH magazine. His primary research interest is developing pharmacologic and endoscopic therapies to treat acute and chronic pancreatitis, as well as pancreas cancer. He has published widely in the areas of medical pancreatology and therapeutic endoscopy with over 200 peer-reviewed publications, three books, and has received grants from the NIH, National Pancreas Foundation and the American College of Gastroenterology. He is the first author of the American College of Gastroenterology chronic pancreatitis clinical guidelines and the senior author of the American College of Gastroenterology acute pancreatitis clinical guidelines. He is on the editorial boards of the journals Gastroenterology and Pancreatology and is a former associate editor of the American Journal of Gastroenterology. He serves in leadership roles in multiple societies including the International Association of Pancreatology (treasurer), American Gastroenterological Association (councilor pancreas diseases section) and the American College of Gastroenterology (chair research committee). He also is a MAJOR in the New Hampshire Army National Guard and serves as the Brigade Surgeon for the 197th Field Artillery Brigade. He lives in Hanover, NH with his wife JoEllen (physical therapist at DHMC) and three children Matty, Jack and Hannah. Chelsea/Vegas Golden Knights/Patriots/Northeastern Soccer/Hanover High are his teams and he enjoys saltwater fishing, long-distance running and Chappaquiddick Island.
Han Naung Tun, MBBS, MPH

Dr. Han Tun is a clinical researcher and health professional with extensive experience in internal medicine, cardiology, clinical research, and public health. He holds an MBBS from the University of Medicine 2 in Yangon, Burma, and an MPH from the Larner College of Medicine at the University of Vermont. He also completed postgraduate cardiology training at the Zurich Heart House in Zurich and Postgraduate certification of Heart Failure (PCHF) at the Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospital in London. He currently serves as a Program Specialist at the Office of Medical Student Research at the Geisel School of Medicine. A fellow of both the American College of Cardiology and the European Society of Cardiology, his work includes contributions to both organizations and centers on clinical research, population health, and improving cardiovascular health and healthcare.
His career spans international and U.S. roles, including collaborations with the European Society of Cardiology, serving as a physician with Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) and Victoria Hospital in Yangon, coordinating NIH-funded clinical trials at Fenway Health Institute, and contributing to community health initiatives in Indiana. Recognized with awards from the American Heart Association for his vascular and hypertension research, Han’s work is indexed in PubMed [pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov] and Google Scholar [scholar.google.com]. He is dedicated to advancing health equity by integrating clinical care, research, and public health. Outside of work, Han enjoys photography, music, travel, and exploring nature.
