Congratulations to Susan B. Roberts, PhD, senior associate dean of foundational research at Dartmouth’s Geisel School of Medicine, who has received the 2024 EV McCollum International Lectureship in Nutrition Award at the American Society for Nutrition’s annual meeting.
The Society of Surgical Oncology announced that Sandra L. Wong, MD, MS, FSSO, is its president-elect. Wong, a surgical oncologist, is the chair of the Department of Surgery at Dartmouth-Hitchcock and the Geisel School of Medicine.
The American Society for Microbiology has named George O’Toole, PhD, The Elmer R. Pfefferkorn, Ph.D. Professor of Microbiology & Immunology at Geisel, as editor-in-chief of The Journal of Bacteriology effective July 1, 2021.

Jocelyn D. Chertoff, MD, MS, MHCDS, professor and chair of radiology at Geisel School of Medicine and Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health, and professor of radiology and obstetrics at Geisel, has been named the 2019 Outstanding Educator of the Year by the Radiological Society of North America.
Ellen Meara, PhD, a professor of The Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice, and an adjunct professor of economics at Dartmouth College, has been elected to the prestigious National Academy of Medicine.
Steven D. Leach, MD, director of the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Norris Cotton Cancer Center and the Preston T. and Virginia R. Kelsey Distinguished Chair in Cancer at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth, has been named a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
Four new faculty were inducted into to the Geisel Academy of Master Educators and another honored with a lifetime achievement award. The Academy of Master Educators are a distinguished group of faculty nominated by their colleagues for their demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and medical education.
Gregory Tsongalis, PhD, a professor of pathology at Dartmouth’s Geisel School of Medicine and director of the Laboratory for Clinical Genomics and Advanced Technology at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center and Norris Cotton Cancer Center, has received the Jeffrey A. Kant Leadership Award from the Association for Molecular Pathology (AMP).
Carrie Colla, an associate professor at The Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice, has been chosen to participate in the 2017-2018 Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Health Policy Fellows program.
