Geisel’s recently approved integrated curriculum creates a cohesive pedagogical approach throughout all four years, building on the medical school’s strong foundation in biomedical sciences and clinical competence. It also creates expanded clinical opportunities in the fourth year.

Geisel Receives Fogarty Grant to Fund Research Collaboration in East Africa
The Geisel School of Medicine has been awarded a 5-year, $1.5 million grant from the Fogarty International Center at the National Institutes of Health to support an infectious disease research and training program to combat HIV and tuberculosis (TB) within the newly established Infectious Disease Institute at Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences (MUHAS) in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

Geisel Researchers to Receive $5.3 Million Award to Study Treatment of Opioid Use Disorders in Pregnant Women
A research team at Dartmouth’s Geisel School of Medicine has been approved for a $5.3 million funding award from the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI)—to conduct comparative clinical effectiveness research on medication-assisted treatment for pregnant women with opioid use disorders.

At the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth’s annual Class Day ceremony on June 2, faculty, staff, students, and families celebrated the accomplishments of 77 new graduates of the school’s MD program.
Matthew P. Haag Named Vice President of Development and Alumni Relations for Geisel School of Medicine and Dartmouth-Hitchcock
Haag will lead efforts to provide philanthropic support for Geisel and Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health to help advance patient care, medical education and research, as well as the creation of a national model for how to accelerate scientific discovery and transform health care both in the US and internationally.
