June 4, 2015 was a big day for the Migrant Health Project at Dartmouth’s Geisel School of Medicine. In seven hours, four first-year medical students and a pre-medical volunteer coordinated 12 dental cleaning and screening appointments for migrant farm workers at Barton Street Dental in Bradford, VT.

Wesley A. Benbow, MBA, Named Executive Dean for Administration and Finance at Geisel
Wesley A. Benbow, MBA, has been named Executive Dean for Administration and Finance for the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth. In this role, Mr. Benbow will be responsible for the management of all of Geisel’s administrative, financial, and non-academic affairs.
Ten Geisel Students Named NH/VT Schweitzer Fellows
Ten students at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth have been selected as 2015-16 New Hampshire/Vermont Schweitzer Fellows by the Albert Schweitzer Fellowship, named for the famous physician-humanitarian.
Geisel Student Named Howard Hughes Medical Institute Research Fellow
Second-year Geisel medical student Jose “Tito” Porras is among 68 top medical and veterinary students from 37 schools in the United States selected to conduct full-time biomedical research through the Howard Hughes Medical Institute’s Medical Research Fellows Program.
Geisel Graduate Student Recognized by Chinese Government for Academic Achievement
Lin Deng, a graduate student in Biochemistry, is a recipient of the Chinese Government Award for Outstanding Students Abroad, which recognizes the academic accomplishments of Chinese students studying overseas.
