Save the Date: MD Program Senior Capstone Course Final Presentations March 12

Please join the Geisel Class of 2019 as they present their final quality improvement projects from their senior capstone course on Tuesday, March 12. Over a dozen student groups are working with teams including over 30 faculty leaders to help improve care to the patients and populations we serve. Projects span the clinical service areas in almost every specialty. The session will occur in the Williamson Building atrium with poster viewing from 5:30 to 6:00 PM, short talks from 6:00 to 7:00 PM, and more time at posters from 7:00 to 7:30 PM. Beverages and appetizers will be served.

Update – Susan Dentzer DC ’77 to Speak at Geisel Senior Capstone Course

Susan Dentzer DC ’77 will give a talk for the Geisel senior capstone course on Thursday, February 7, 9:00 – 11:00 AM, in DHMC Auditoriums E/F.  The talk is open to the Geisel and D-H communities and is entitled “Health Care Without Walls: What It Could Mean For Practice, Education, and the System.” Dentzer is one of the nation’s most respected health and health policy thought leaders and a frequent speaker and commentator on television and radio, including PBS and NPR, and an author of commentaries and analyses in print publications such as Modern Healthcare. She is currently a Visiting Fellow at the Duke-Margolis Center for Health Policy, the Washington, DC-based arm of Duke University that focuses on health system transformation, biopharmaceutical policy, and other key health policy issues. She is also a member of the Board of Advisors for the Geisel School of Medicine.

Gear Up for Research 2019 – Jan. 24 from 2 – 4 PM

Are you a researcher? Writing a research proposal? Getting ready to publish? Attend Gear Up on January 24th, 2019 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm at DHMC Auditoria A-C to learn about Dartmouth and DHMC research support services and meet the people who provide the support. Gear Up is an information fair that gives you the opportunity get answers directly from the source – Dartmouth and DHMC departments that help with the research process. Geisel’s 2019 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration

Geisel’s 2019 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration will be held January 18 – 19 in the Class of ’78 Life Sciences Center’s Oopik Auditorium. This year’s theme is “Honoring a Survivor’s Narrative: Our Role In Empowering Victims Of Sexual Violence” and will feature a screening of the documentary “I Am Evidence” and keynote speaker Alicia Ely Yamin, JD, MPH, Senior Scholar in Residence, Global Health Education and Learning Incubator, Harvard University and Adjunct Lecturer on Global Health and Population, Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health.
