2017 Scholars Program – Availability of Funding Announcement

SYNERGY announces the 2017 SYNERGY Scholars Award, an ongoing Mentored Career Development Program modeled on the NIH KL2 Scholars Program. This opportunity combines didactic training, mentoring, exposure to multidisciplinary research, and ongoing evaluation to prepare junior investigators for careers in Clinical and Translational Research (CTR).

The SYNERGY Scholars Program Committee anticipates available funding for a maximum of one (1) SYNERGY Scholars slot for 2017: appointment begins October 1, 2017 and ends September 31, 2018.

LETTER OF INTENT DUE (Required): April 1, 2017. Full applications will subsequently be requested by invitation.

A panel of senior scientists will select the scholar through a rigorous peer-review process. The scholar will choose two or more mentors to oversee his or her progress in patient-oriented research and devote a minimum of 75% of full-time professional effort for one year to career development and research. The SYNERGY Scholars Program is funded under the Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA) number KL2TR001088 from the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS) of the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
