Medical Students Share Research Projects at Grand Rounds
During the recent Medical Student Grand Rounds at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC), three Geisel students shared their research projects ranging from, a comparative review of laparoscopic and robotic paraesophageal hernia repair, the long-term financial implications of pursuing fellowships after general surgery training, and challenges and innovation in rural heart failure care.
Geisel Medical Student Awarded National Fellowship for AI Tool Advancing Brain Tumor Research
Vishva Natarajan MED ’28, a second-year student at Dartmouth’s Geisel School of Medicine, is one of only 11 medical students nationally to be selected for a fellowship from the American Brain Tumor Association for his work to design a novel project that leverages AI to study brain tumor-related epilepsy.

Geisel School of Medicine student Lucy Skinner ’22 is lead author on a paper published today in the New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM) that examines the aging physician workforce in rural populations—a demographic shift with important implications for the future—and offers strategies to forestall the projected diminishing access to healthcare.
