Is Cardiothoracic Surgery Right for You? Two Geisel Students Seek an Answer
Geisel School of Medicine students, Alyssa Flores ‘19 and Ace St. John ’18, were among 30 medical students awarded “Looking to the Future” scholarships to attend the Society of Thoracic Surgeons annual national meeting. A goal of the scholarship is to mentor aspiring cardiothoracic surgeons.
2017-18 Swigart Ethics Fellowships
Applications are now being accepted for the 2017-18 Swigart Ethics Fellowships. Two fellowships will be awarded to selected Geisel students working jointly with a faculty member to undertake an ethics focused project.

Geisel to Host National Physicians for Human Rights Student Conference
A collection of evening activities on Friday, November 4, including a student poster session highlighting research on human rights and a reception, will kick-off the annual Physicians for Human Rights Student Conference being held at Geisel on November 5. The topic of this year’s conference is Violence against Difference.
White Coat Ceremony Marks Milestone for Class of 2020
On Oct. 1, 2016, the Geisel School of Medicine’s Class of 2020 joined faculty, friends, and family for the school’s annual White Coat ceremony at Dartmouth’s Rollins Chapel, where they received words of encouragement and sage advice in addition to their new white coats.
Geisel Welcomes Class of 2020
Dartmouth’s Geisel School of Medicine welcomed its 220th class to Hanover, with advice and greetings from Interim Dean Duane Compton, Dartmouth Provost Carolyn Dever, and others at the Year 1 Orientation that began on August 8.
Geisel Celebrates 85 New MD Graduates
At the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth’s annual Class Day ceremony on June 4, faculty, staff, students, and families celebrated the accomplishments of 85 new graduates of the school’s MD program.
Geisel Medical Students Earn Public Health Award
Three rising third-year Geisel medical students have received a distinguished national public health award for their efforts over the past two years to improve both awareness of and access to health care for migrant farm workers in the Upper Valley.
Geisel Students Named 2016-2017 NH/VT Schweitzer Fellows
Ten first-year medical students at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth have been selected as 2016-17 New Hampshire/Vermont Schweitzer Fellows by the Albert Schweitzer Fellowship.
