Read article - Jesse Casana, a professor of anthropology; David Goodman, a professor of the Dartmouth Institute, pediatrics, and community and family medicine; and Carolin Ferwerda, a research associate in the Department of Anthropology, are featured in an article about their study in which they analyzed declassified footage from U.S. spy satellite photos and found evidence of the Roman empire in Syria. “Many of these larger sites include extensive remains of outlying architectural features surrounding or within the fortifications, multiple fortified buildings, or large citadels,” they wrote in the study.
