Michael L. Whitfield, PhD, has been named the chair of the Department of Biomedical Data Science at Dartmouth’s Geisel School of Medicine. Whitfield, a professor of biomedical data science and molecular and systems biology, has served as the department’s interim chair since November 2017.

Geisel Students Chad Lewis and Alex Lindqwister Receive National Recognition
Two Geisel medical students were recognized during the Association of American Medical Colleges annual meeting for their demonstrated leadership and commitment to diversity. Chad Lewis ’20 has received a prestigious Herbert W. Nickens Scholarship award, and Alex Lindqwister ’21, was elected national chair of the AAMC Organization of Student Representatives.

Geisel School of Medicine Dean Duane Compton has named Stephanie L. White, MD, MSHS, FAAP, Associate Dean for Diversity and Inclusion. White succeeds Dean of Faculty Affairs Leslie Henderson, PhD, who has held that position since 2014.
