Andrew Rose Named Chief Financial Officer for the Geisel School of Medicine

Duane Compton, PhD, Dean of Dartmouth’s Geisel School of Medicine, has named Andrew Rose, MBA as the school’s new Chief Financial Officer. In his new role, Rose will be responsible for the oversight of all the medical school’s financial affairs including, accounting and finance, financial planning, and analysis. He will also lead business planning in the evaluation and implementation of new programs and initiatives emerging from Geisel’s recent strategic planning processes. The promotion is effective immediately.

“Andy's leadership of Geisel's finances and the Finance Office has been essential for our financial strength, and for guiding our investments into our education and research programs," said Compton.

“I’m thrilled for Andy to receive this recognition, in light of his on-going commitment to strengthening the financial position of the School, and his dedication to working to continually improve our processes,” said Wes Benbow, MBA, Executive Dean for Administration and Finance at Geisel.  “This is a well-deserved promotion for Andy.”

Rose joined Geisel in 2016 as the Director of Finance. Prior to joining Dartmouth, Rose was a consultant focusing his work primarily in academic healthcare. Andrew began his career at Boston Children’s Hospital.

Rose holds a bachelor’s degree in health management and policy from the University of New Hampshire and a Master of Business Administration from Boston University.
