Seventh Annual Surgical Trainees Advancing Research Symposium (STARS)

Faculty and students are invited to attend the Seventh Annual Surgical Trainees Advancing Research Symposium (STARS) to be held on May 9 and 10 at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. The STARS event, sponsored by the Department of Surgery, promotes interest in surgical health services research among young surgeons through a spirited but supportive competition.

This year's keynote speaker will be Caprice Greenberg, MD, MPH, FACS, the Morgridge Distinguished Chair in Health Services Research, vice chair of research for the Department of Surgery, and Director of the Wisconsin Surgical Outcomes Research Institute at the University of Wisconsin.

The two-day symposium will include “Dinner With the Stars” featuring invited guest speaker, Jacob Greenberg, MD, EdM, FACS, associate professor and program director for the General Surgery Residency Program at the University of Wisconsin,  and short presentations from surgical trainees in the form of “quickshots” on May 9 from 5:30 – 8:00 PM in Auditorium F. The symposium will continue the next morning, May 10 at 6:30 AM in Auditorium H with a keynote presentation and  “Rising Stars Presentations” featuring research of the top young surgical investigators.
