For medical students, donning the white coat is an emotional and symbolic step on their journey into their medical careers. The White Coat Ceremony for the Geisel Class of ’24 will be held on Friday, Oct. 2 at noon. Because of campus restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the event will be held virtually this year. Dartmouth’s Geisel School of Medicine welcomed 92 first-year medical students to the Upper Valley while observing COVID-19 safety protocols and new students got to know each other during a variety of virtual orientation sessions that included an orienteering activity.
