The Geisel School of Medicine community recently celebrated the opening of an art gallery in its Medical and Health Sciences Student Lounge.
Inspired by the artistic work of the medical school’s students and staff, Tara Cunningham, EdD, MS, associate dean for student life, envisioned the lounge’s blank walls as the perfect space to celebrate their various talents.
Cunningham says creating artwork and sharing it contributes to achieving wellness and balance and creating community by recognizing everyone’s individuality. She sees the gallery as an ongoing effort with rotating exhibitions. As awareness about the gallery spreads, she hopes more students, faculty, and staff will contribute their work.
