Commencement: Sunday, June 9: The academic procession assembles at 8:30 AM at the front entrance to the Hopkins Center and forms a double line in order of seniority. Seniority is established by year of receipt of baccalaureate degree. This traditional order of march will be implemented by the faculty marshals, the Associate Deans of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences. The faculty marshals will lead you to your seats on the faculty platforms. Please remain standing until the head marshal gives the signal to be seated. At the end of the ceremony, after the main platform group recesses down the center aisle, the faculty, led by the faculty marshals, will recess down the two side aisles immediately adjacent to the center aisle.

FACULTY GUEST TICKETS

Up to three of your family members or friends may sit in the special ticketed section marked by red signs on the Green (see map at www.dartmouth.edu/~commence/visitors/seating.html). Order tickets for your guests when you sign up to march.  Tickets are distributed in early June.  We ask that your guests be seated by 8:00 AM; extra seats in the red section will be opened to families of graduates at that time. Those guests and visitors wishing to avoid heat, sun or inclement weather may view the ceremony onscreen in The Moore Theater, Hopkins Center.

SEVERE WEATHER

The ceremony will remain outdoors if it is merely raining. However, in the highly unlikely case of lightning, hail, or dangerously high winds, a severe weather plan will be implemented, and the ceremony will be moved indoors. ONLY graduating students, the platform group, and marching faculty/administrators will be allowed in Leede. Guests with red faculty guest tickets should be directed to Spaulding Auditorium, Hopkins Center, where they may view the ceremony onscreen. If the severe weather plan must be enacted, you will receive an email in the late afternoon or evening of Saturday, June 8, with instructions.

Should you have any questions, concerns, or need accessibility information, please do not hesitate to contact Conferences and Events at (603) 646-3749 or commencement@dartmouth.edu.
