The Concord Monitor - In this op-ed, Leslie Henderson, a professor of physiology and of biochemistry, and senior associate dean for faculty affairs, responds to a recent Bloomberg opinion piece that suggests large endowments of elite colleges result in professors who "obscure research that no one uses or reads." As an example of how colleges and universities are producing solid and useful research, Henderson highlights the New Hampshire INBRE program, or IDeA Networks of Biomedical Research Excellence, which aims to "augment and strengthen biomedical research capacity of institutions within 23 states and Puerto Rico that are underrepresented in their share of federal funding."
