Geisel Gives Back: Class of 2017 Service

During their first week of student orientation, Dartmouth medical students participate in Valley Quest, a day of community service which brings groups of students to the various agencies within the local community that provide services for uninsured and underserved populations. The experience exposes students to not only the healthcare problems that their local patient populations encounter, but also to the everyday challenges that many of those same patients face.

This year, students visited many agencies in the Upper Valley region including The Upper Valley Haven, The Good Neighbor Clinic and Cover Home Repair—organizations that address issues of homelessness & food insecurity, provide medical care for uninsured and underserved patients in the region and offer home repair resources that benefit families and individuals with low incomes.
