Description: Students are placed by the FM clerkship at various sites in New Hampshire, Vermont and Massachusetts. Sites vary in models from a single preceptor to group practice to residency model with different preceptors each half day. Sites may or may not practice obstetrics or hospital medicine. They may be as rural as the Northeast Kingdom or as urban as Manchester, NH. Students who select a regional site in the lottery will be contacted at a later date by the FM clerkship office about their site characteristic preferences, but there is no guarantee that these can be accommodated.
Sites may be up to three hours away from Geisel. Students are provided housing by the clerkship if their site is more than one hour away from Geisel. Students who are within one hour are expected to provide their own housing. All students are expected to provide their own transportation.
