Dr. Jus Crea led an Herbal Medicine workshop with students on November 11th as part of Geisel's Celebration of Native American Heritage Month.
Herbal Medicine: History, Culture, and Modern Therapeutics
As a Naturopathic doctor and Penobscot native, this lecture will cover cultural and historical practices of herbal medicine in the Northeast. We discussed the clinical applications of herbal medicine in modern integrative practices. Ethical harvesting practices, medicine making, and dosing were taught with a hands-on component. Participants were able to make an elderberry immune syrup that they got to take home.
