The Academics Committee ensures student perspectives shape every aspect of medical education at Geisel—from curriculum reform and educational policy to academic support and institutional governance. Led by the Co-Chairs of Academics, the committee supports initiatives that enhance the educational experience while ensuring student voices are heard in academic decision-making. The Co-Chairs collaborate closely with the Medical Education Committee (MEC), providing guidance on student proposals, overseeing student representatives, and maintaining active participation in institutional processes that directly impact student learning outcomes.
Throughout the academic year, various projects and initiatives emerge that welcome student involvement, offering meaningful opportunities to contribute beyond elected positions.
Students interested in getting involved or seeking more information about the MEC Schedule are encouraged to contact the Student Gov Co-Chairs of Academics, Corbin Dameron and Helen Thomason.
