UMaine honors DMS' Stanton for arsenic research, activism
Orono, Maine—Physiologist Bruce Stanton, Ph.D., the Andrew C. Vail Memorial Professor at Dartmouth Medical School (DMS), spoke on the worldwide problem of arsenic contamination of drinking water during the Distinguished Honors Graduate Lecture at the University of Maine on February 23.
Maine's Honors College, from which Stanton graduated in 1974, recently named him its 2011 Distinguished Honors Graduate. A professor of microbiology and immunology at DMS, he directs the Dartmouth Toxic Metals Superfund Research Program.
