The Department of Medical Education at the Geisel School of Medicine was established in 2016 to provide oversight of all aspects of the undergraduate medical education curriculum and with several specific goals in mind:
- Enhance communication across all aspects of medical education;
- Improve integration of important topics across all aspects of the curriculum and between courses;
- Disseminate best practices in medical education;
- Facilitate curricular reorganization, including the introduction of new and evolving subjects in the curriculum.
The department is home to many faculty with primary or secondary appointments who have a commitment to our students and a passion for medical education. These outstanding medical educators are supported by a dedicated staff of experienced administrators and course support personnel. The department also serves as home for our willed body program (the Anatomical Gifts Program) and our Ultrasound in Medical Education lab. Collectively, we are responsible for planning and implementing the educational program and for contributing to the success of our evaluation and student support services.
