I am excited to share the news that Susan B. Roberts, PhD, has been appointed as the Senior Associate Dean of Foundational Research at the Geisel School of Medicine. She brings more than 30 years of experience developing innovative research programs in the field of nutrition and behavior to advance health in the U.S. and abroad.
A new central Office of Educational Affairs will provide a framework for the collaborative and efficient engagement of curriculum leaders from each of our professional degree programs and will oversee student support services for Geisel’s health professions students.
I want to echo President Beilock’s message that while we do not yet understand all the implications of today’s Supreme Court’s decision, I do know that it in no way diminishes our commitment to fostering a diverse and welcoming community for our faculty, staff, and students.
As Geisel School of Medicine continues to strive towards its strategic goals, the team of strategic goal champions have developed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure our growth and progress. KPIs are essentially measurable values that demonstrate how effectively an organization is achieving its key objectives.
We are very pleased to announce that William C. (Will) Torrey, MD, has been named chair of the Department of Psychiatry, a role he has held on an interim basis since 2020.
I am very pleased to announce that Andy Rose, MBA, has been named Geisel’s new Chief Financial Officer, effective immediately. As our Senior Director of Finance since joining Dartmouth in 2016, Andy’s leadership of Geisel’s finances and the Finance Office has been essential to keeping our medical school fiscally strong and guiding investments into our education and research programs.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the news that Richard Ellison, MD, a member of the Class of ’23 in the Master of Health Care Delivery Science (MHCDS) Program at Geisel and Tuck, has died. Richard was in Hanover for the residential portion of the MHCDS program when he passed away Thursday evening.
