The new department, which will be known as the Department of Radiation Oncology and Applied Sciences, will be under the leadership of Inaugural Chair Charles R. Thomas, Jr., MD.

I wanted to share the good news that Geisel has received the 2023 Health Professions Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) Award from INSIGHT Into Diversity Magazine for our ongoing commitment to building a more inclusive and belonging community. Kelsey Distinguished Chair in Cancer at Dartmouth’s Geisel School of Medicine, has been elected to the prestigious National Academy of Medicine (NAM) .

We are pleased to announce that following a national search, Nathan Goldstein, MD, has accepted the role as our next Chair of the Department of Medicine at Dartmouth Health and Dartmouth’s Geisel School of Medicine. He will begin work in March 2024, assuming the role previously held by Richard “Rich” Rothstein, MD. He will also hold the Joseph M. Huber Professorship of Medicine at the Geisel School of Medicine.
