The mission of the Geisel School of Medicine is to graduate the “complete physician.” One who excels in the basic sciences, delivers outstanding clinical care, discovers and shares new knowledge and works to improve systems of healthcare delivery.
The Geisel Admissions Committee is responsible for selecting a talented group of students each year who are reflective of our nation and who will contribute positively to, and benefit from, our institutional mission. To fulfill this responsibility the committee employs a holistic review process that places value on applicants who possess a strong academic foundation, diversity in all forms, a broad range of life experiences, and traits known to promote success in the field of medicine. Through this selection process, our matriculating class will include students with exceptional intellectual aptitude and varied life experiences who will enrich the education of their peers, enhance our community, engage the faculty, and ultimately strengthen the world of medicine.
