Professional Interests

My clinical interests lie in caring for patients with either advanced skin cancers or those located in anatomically challenging areas and the use of Mohs Micrographic Surgery to remove these cancers. Following complete removal of the skin cancer my focus changes to repairing the surgical sites in a fashion that restores preoperative appearance.
Since joining DHMC I have performed over 3000 Mohs Micrographic Surgeries and subsequent reconstructions.
My research interests are focused on methods to improve tumor margin analysis and tumor clearance including the use of machine learning and artificial intelligence to accomplish this. This involves Application of Mohs Micrographic Surgery methodologies to build a model system that allows for accurate and efficient evaluation of tumor margins for the presence or absence of tumor and subsequent tumor mapping.
