Sonia Nagy Chimienti, MD, FIDSA
Dean of Education
Dr. Chimienti oversees Geisel School of Medicine’s medical and health sciences programs, including the MD, MPH, and MS professional degree programs. She is dedicated to creating an inclusive, student-centered learning environment where all learners can thrive academically, professionally, and personally. In her role, she provides strategic leadership for the development and coordination of curricula, student services, admissions, dual degree programs, simulation training, and other educational initiatives across Geisel. She works closely with faculty, staff, and community partners to ensure that students and educators have access to mentorship, experiential learning, and opportunities to engage with the broader New Hampshire community. Passionate about fostering innovation in education, Dr. Chimienti supports programs that prepare students to meet the evolving needs of healthcare while maintaining a holistic focus on well-being and success.
Craig Westling, DrPH, MPH, MS
Associate Dean for Health Sciences Education
Dr. Westling provides leadership and administrative oversight for Geisel's portfolio of health sciences degree and non-degree programs, including the Master of Public Health and Master of Science programs. He also represents Geisel in its partnership with the Tuck School of Business to offer the Master of Health Care Delivery Science (MHCDS) and Master of Health Administration (MHA) degrees. He guides program development, implementation, and curricular innovation while supporting the expansion and enhancement of Geisel's health sciences educational offerings. His work helps ensure that these programs remain responsive to evolving public health and healthcare workforce needs.
Julie Scott Taylor, MD, MSc
Associate Dean for Medical Education
Dr. Taylor provides leadership and administrative oversight for Geisel’s four-year undergraduate medical education (UME) curriculum, guiding its development, implementation, and innovation across all three phases of the MD program. She works closely with phase, curricular thread, and clinical education leaders to strengthen competency-based curriculum integration, support experiential learning, and ensure alignment with accreditation standards. She also fosters initiatives that enhance clinical skills, professional growth, and readiness for future medical practice.
Paul Weissburg, PhD
Associate Dean for Assessment, Quality, and Accreditation
Dr. Weissburg provides leadership for assessment, evaluation, and accreditation across Geisel’s educational programs. He develops and implements innovative assessment policies and practices, collaborates with curriculum committees to ensure compliance with accreditation standards, and supports data-informed initiatives that advance educational quality. Dr. Weissburg's work helps ensure that assessment practices are meaningful, equitable, and aligned with institutional priorities.
Roshini Pinto-Powell, MD
Associate Dean for Admissions
Dr. Pinto-Powell provides strategic leadership and oversight for the MD Program's admissions process, guiding the policies, procedures, and operations that shape the selection of Geisel’s incoming MD classes. She works closely with institutional leadership and faculty to ensure that admissions practices align with the school’s mission, support a diverse and talented applicant pool, and maintain a fair, holistic, and transparent review process.
Tara K. Cunningham, EdD, MS
Associate Dean for Student Life
Dr. Cunningham leads initiatives that support student well-being, engagement, and professional development while fostering a vibrant and inclusive campus culture. She works closely with faculty, staff, and student leaders to strengthen programming that promotes student success, belonging, and resilience. Her work helps ensure that Geisel students are supported both personally and professionally throughout their educational journey.
