Geisel’s Learning Collaboratives are a longitudinal, student-centered initiative designed to support medical students' personal and professional growth. Grounded in the Kern National Network’s Framework for Flourishing in Medicine, this program redefines success to include well-being, purpose, and the development of the whole physician—not just academic achievement. Through sustained mentorship, program objectives, and an emphasis on character education, students are guided to develop empathy, integrity, and professionalism—traits essential to compassionate care, ethical decision-making, and patient trust—while equipping them to navigate challenges, lead thoughtfully, and build meaningful, impactful careers in medicine.

House Structure:
- At the heart of this model is a house structure, where students are placed into small, supportive communities that remain consistent throughout medical school. Within each house, students are guided by faculty mentors, called Learning Collaboratives Clinical Mentors, who provide support, feedback, and connection across all four years.
- Also within each house are elected student leaders who facilitate communication and coordination of community events for their houses.Click on the below icons to learn more about the house structure.
