Fast food offerings become larger and less healthy over several decades

A recently published study tracked portion sizes and nutritional content of major fast food options over the past three decades. Data was analyzed from 10 restaurants and found that portions and calories increased dramatically over the course of 30 years, and sodium content in particular skyrocketed. Authors conclude with the warning that these increases are drastic and dangerous, and suggest that further research might illustrate the types of regulatory change that could help consumers adjust their fast food intake.
