International Education Week Committee (IEWC) is back!

We are hosting our second International Education week (IEW) at Geisel School of Medicine from Nov 13-17. IEW is a joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education to celebrate the internationalization and cultural exchange worldwide in the month of November.

This year our theme for IEW is “One Campus Many Cultures: Building Community Through Shared Experiences!” and we invite you to celebrate our students, scholars, staff, and faculty from around the world. We have exciting events planned for the week and we hope you take advantage of IEW events to connect and exchange ideas from our global community.

Thank you in advance for being part of International Education Week at Geisel. Please reach out to Firoj Gurung at Firoj.Gurung@dartmouth.edu if you have any questions about the IEW. Please RSVP for any events that you would like to attend.

Please join us in celebration of Diwali, the Festival of Lights! Diwali is a major South Asian holiday celebrating the triumph of good over evil and light over darkness. We will have Indian food, music, mehendi, sparklers, and more! Cultural attire is welcome but not required– we’d love to see you in your kurtas, lehengas, and saris. Everyone is welcome!

Global Chai and Chat is an event to create a sense of belonging for our international community members with diverse experiences to exchange ideas on international education, global engagement, and building a global community at Geisel. Our first in person Chai and Chat will have the international grad students from Tuck School of Business. Chai and refreshments will be provided!

Virtual Global Chai and Chat is an extended version of our in-person event for our community members who reside beyond the Upper Valley. We hope to see you with your favorite cup of chai and snacks!

Food plays a vital role in many cultural celebrations. We kindly invite you to come celebrate with us at the end of International Education Week with cultural foods from different parts of the world and form our amazing global community members. We welcome anyone interested in sharing their cultural dish with the community. We will be collecting non-perishable food items to support the global community of the Upper Valley. Please see this Cultural Food Guide for ideas on what you can bring to donate.
