Dr. Hayden earned his B.A. in Biology from Oberlin College, Oberlin, OH, in 1994. In 1998, he joined the Gladstone Institute of Virology and Immunology as a research assistant, where he investigated HIV drug resistance and viral fitness. He matriculated into the Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP) at Yale School of Medicine in 2000, conducting his doctoral research in the Department of Immunobiology. Following completion of his Ph.D., Dr. Hayden pursued postdoctoral research at Columbia University. He subsequently joined the Departments of Dermatology and Microbiology & Immunology at Columbia University Medical Center, where he held the position of George Henry Fox Assistant Professor of Dermatology. In 2017, Dr. Hayden joined the Department of Dermatology at Dartmouth Health and the Geisel School of Medicine. He currently serves as Vice Chair of Research in Dermatology and is a member of the Dartmouth Cancer Center’s Signaling, Genomes, and Networks Research Program.
