I would like to thank the many people who volunteered or provided nominations for membership on the new Geisel Committee on Diversity, Equity & Inclusion. The response that we received was exceptional from staff, students and faculty, and there were far more nominations/volunteers than we could accommodate on the initial committee composition.

Good News – Reversal of Fall 2020 Federal Operational Guidance for International Students
I’m excited to share the good news that the government has decided to rescind their recently announced policy that would have barred international students taking online-only courses from residing in the United States. The speed at which the government rescinded this unjust and arbitrary policy in the face of legal action highlights just how indefensible it was. I’m pleased that Dartmouth supported this fight to protect our students and learning environment.
Geisel’s Juneteenth Town Hall Community Discussion Guide, Next Steps, and WC4BL
We should all consider the following: What would it mean for Geisel to be a national leader in racial fairness, equity, and justice in all of our missions of science and education? How might we get there? We cannot speed to quick fixes aimed to placate that are not long-term solutions, but we can commit, from this point forward, to working towards this vision as a priority for our school.
