Welcoming Jennifer Hunt as the Next Dean of Geisel
I’m delighted to share some wonderful and historic news: After a thoughtful and thorough national search, Dartmouth has appointed Jennifer Hunt, MD, MEd, as the next dean of the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth. Dr. Hunt will join us on August 1, 2026.

We are deeply saddened to share the news of the unexpected passing of our colleague Gustav E. Lienhard, PhD, professor of Biochemistry and Cell Biology. Gus joined Dartmouth in 1972 and was a cherished and devoted colleague who remained actively engaged in research, teaching, and service throughout his long career.
