Why QBS?

Our Mission Statement

The QBS program seeks to train highly qualified students in medical informatics, epidemiology, and health data science for careers in academia and industry.

Six Reasons To Join QBS at Dartmouth

QBS Community

We have a thriving and tight-knit community of students engaged in graduate education and encourage interaction among students and faculty in all graduate programs. QBS program members participate in several active seminar series with speakers drawn from a host of nationally and internationally recognized research institutions. Informal interactions among program students and faculty take place during journal clubs and during program-sponsored annual retreats.

Interdisciplinary Program

The program is interdepartmental with numerous collaborations existing between QBS members and those in other graduate programs at Dartmouth. Our philosophy is that the modern biomedical scientist must be able to speak more than one language to successfully collaborate in a highly multidisciplinary environment. Students trained through the PhD and MS programs will be versed in bioinformatics, biostatistics and epidemiology.

Career Opportunities

QBS is committed to ensuring the success of our graduate students by training them to take on leadership roles in academia and industry. Besides the career placement opportunities offered by Dartmouth, QBS holds corporate recruiting seminars with industry partners, exclusively open to QBS students.

The Ivy League Experience

Dartmouth has forged a singular identity for combining its deep commitment to outstanding undergraduate liberal arts and graduate education with distinguished research and scholarship in the Guarini Arts & Sciences and its three leading professional schools - the Geisel School of Medicine, Thayer School of Engineering, and the Tuck School of Business.

Dartmouth College is located in rural New Hampshire, the region uniquely offers idyllic landscapes along with outstanding recreation and cultural activities. With various ski mountains nearby, the Appalachian Trail running through campus, and the Connecticut River just steps away, outdoor activities are always accessible during all seasons.

Our faculty are accessible and attentive and encourage a collaborative learning environment for all students.
