Title: Laying the Foundation for Statistical and Machine Learning Approaches to Eliminate the Occurrence of Pressure Ulcers During Inpatient Hospital Stays
Mentor: Dr. Gary Freed & Dr. Rebecca T Emeny
We strive to use both structured and unstructured data present in Electronic Medical Records to build a machine learning model that can identify the patients most likely to develop pressure ulcers. With this information in hands Doctors and Nurses would then have a better chance of decreasing the incidence of this important hospital complication.
