The Department of Molecular and Systems Biology (MSB) offers travel awards for trainees of MSB primary faculty members to support participation in national and international conferences or courses.

Eligibility
Applicants must meet all of the following:
- Senior graduate student (post-qual) or postdoctoral fellow in an MSB lab (includes trainees across MCB, IND, and QBS programs)
- Attending a national or international conference or course
- Presenting their own work or an accepted course participant
- Travel commencing prior to June 30 of the current fiscal year
Award Details
- The award will cover up to $1,200 to be used toward registration, lodging, airfare, ground transportation, meals, or a combination thereof.
- Expenses exceeding this amount must be covered by the student’s PI or other sources.
Required Application Materials
- Nomination letter (less than one page)
- Applicant’s CV
- Conference or course information
- Official abstract of the material to be presented (or course acceptance letter)
Selection Process
After the application is received, the Chair of MSB will evaluate the application with committee input as needed. Preference will be given to those who haven’t received a travel award previously.
Deadlines and Notification
Applications can be submitted at any time to Molecular.and.Systems.Biology@dartmouth.edu.
Recipients and their PIs will be notified via email once a decision is reached and can work with Stephanie Hill to arrange financial coverage of the travel.
