Urmi Khanna, MD, is an incoming Assistant Professor of Dermatology and Section Chief of the Skin of Color Program at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. She completed her dermatology residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center, where she served as Chief Resident.

Dr. Khanna’s clinical and research expertise spans complex medical dermatology, autoimmune connective tissue diseases, granulomatous skin diseases (including leprosy), mucous membrane pemphigoid, gastrointestinal-associated dermatoses, and conditions disproportionately affecting patients with skin of color. She will direct the Dermatomyositis Clinic and conduct research aimed at improving care and outcomes for patients with idiopathic inflammatory myopathies.

She has authored over 50 peer-reviewed publications and serves on national committees, including the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) Diversity Committee. She also holds leadership roles within the Rheumatologic Dermatology Society (RDS) and the Myositis Clinical Trial Consortium (MCTC), where she serves on the Dermatology Working Group. Dr. Khanna is also deeply passionate about teaching and mentoring medical students and residents, fostering the next generation of dermatologists.
