Dr. Kate Püttgen is originally from New York and spent most of her childhood in Kentucky. She received her undergraduate degree from Sewanee, The University of the South, graduating summa cum laude, and earned her medical doctorate at the Emory University School of Medicine. She completed her Dermatology residency training at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, where she served as chief resident. She then completed her subspecialty fellowship training in Pediatric Dermatology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Dr. Püttgen was a faculty member in the Johns Hopkins University Department of Dermatology from 2007 to 2018 as an Associate Professor of Dermatology and Pediatrics and served as both Division Chief and Fellowship Director for Pediatric Dermatology. She was Co-Director of the Johns Hopkins Vascular Anomalies Center, caring for patients with complex vascular birthmarks. She then joined Intermountain Health in Utah from 2019 to 2026. Her interests and expertise include infantile hemangiomas, vascular anomalies, birthmarks, atopic dermatitis (eczema), psoriasis, burn and traumatic scars, acne, neonatal dermatology and pediatric lichen sclerosus. She is a nationally recognized expert in laser and surgical treatments for pediatric dermatology patients. Dr. Püttgen is board certified in Dermatology and sub-specialty boarded in Pediatric Dermatology by the American Board of Dermatology. She has published extensively in prominent medical journals and textbooks and lectures frequently both nationally and internationally. In her clinical practice, Dr. Püttgen believes in providing patients and their families with state of the art, compassionate medical care and clear, evidence based treatment options to develop effective, tailored management plans. She enjoys working with children from birth to early adulthood and their families, as well as seeing adults for general dermatology needs. In her free time, Dr. Püttgen enjoys reading, travel, exercise, cooking, hiking and spending time with her husband and two teenage sons exploring their beautiful new home state of New Hampshire and learning about the Upper Valley.
