Welcoming Our New Interim Leadership in the Office of Faculty Affairs

Dear Colleagues,

I am pleased to announce that Brock Christensen, PhD and Kathleen Clem, MD will join Geisel’s Office of Faculty Affairs (OFA) as Interim Dean of Faculty Affairs and Interim Associate Dean of Faculty Affairs, respectively, and will begin onboarding into these roles on June 1, 2026.

Brock Christensen, PhD is a professor in the Departments of Epidemiology, Molecular & Systems Biology, and Community & Family Medicine. His research focuses on DNA-based cell typing and epigenetics in cancer development and treatment response, and he currently serves as Associate Director for Strategic Initiatives at Dartmouth Cancer Center. Brock brings a strong record of faculty governance to this role, having served seven years on the Geisel Faculty Council, including three years as Chair where he has contributed to Appointments, Promotions, Titles (APT) policy development.

Kathleen Clem, MD is a professor in Geisel’s Department of Emergency Medicine and a practicing emergency physician at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. Over the course of her career, she has held senior clinical and administrative leadership roles at major academic medical systems, with a sustained focus on faculty development, mentorship, and recruitment. Kathleen has served on Geisel’s APT Committee and as a faculty representative on the Geisel Faculty Council for five years.

I am deeply grateful for Dr. Erika Brown's leadership and the foundation she has built for faculty affairs at Geisel. Her dedication and the thoughtfulness she brings to this work have prepared the office of faculty affairs for ongoing success. We are fortunate that Brock and Kathleen will work alongside Erika through June 30, ensuring a seamless transition. I also want to thank the entire OFA staff for their continued dedication and amazing work.

Please join me in welcoming Brock and Kathleen to these new roles. I am confident they will bring thoughtful and engaged leadership to OFA, and I encourage you to reach out and introduce yourself when they are on campus.

Warm regards,
Steve
