Aaron Mancuso Named Interim Chair, Department of Anesthesiology

We are pleased to announce that Aaron Mancuso, MD, has been named Interim Chair of the Department of Anesthesiology at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center and the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth. He will assume the role following Simon Hillier’s retirement on April 30, 2024.

Dr. Mancuso joined Dartmouth Health and Geisel in 2014. He has served as the Director, Thoracic Anesthesia since 2015 and Medical Director, Intraoperative Cell Salvage since 2022. He has been an Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine at Geisel since 2014 and an Assistant Professor of Medicine since 2019. Clinically he is active in the operating rooms and the cardiovascular critical care unit.

Dr. Mancuso’s extensive leadership involvement across Dartmouth Health and Geisel includes representing the Department of Anesthesiology on the Geisel School of Medicine Faculty Council and terms as a physician representative to both the Dartmouth Hitchcock Board of Governors and the Dartmouth Health Board of Trustees. He is currently the Director of the New Hampshire Society of Anesthesiologists.

Aaron is a 2009 graduate of Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, NE. He completed his anesthesiology residency at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center where he served as chief resident, followed by a fellowship in adult cardiothoracic anesthesiology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
