We have partnered with STEM teachers to provide summer research experiences to high school students from underrepresented groups in medicine to engage them in biomedical research in university laboratories and college-readiness training. STEM RISE is an award-winning, NSF-funded program, now in its second year, that trains medicals students as near-peer mentors to high school students to provide safe and nurturing research experiences and educational opportunities that help promote equity in STEM & Medicine education.
