Global Health Equity

Global health equity stands at the heart of the Geisel School of Medicine's and Dartmouth College's core values to be a world citizen and to improve lives. At Dartmouth's Geisel School of Medicine, health equity education, research and service takes many forms...from global health programs in Peru, China, or Rwanda to urban, rural and Native American partnerships in the US.

In a typical entering class at Dartmouth, roughly half of the Geisel students will bring with them some type of global health experience. Student interest in these experiences is at an all-time high and growing, and the need to improve health care in the U.S. and abroad continues to grow as well.

Dartmouth's Geisel School of Medicine is fiercely committed to:

  • building strong programs with partners here and abroad,
  • establishing structured, safe and meaningful educational experiences for students,
  • creating new discoveries through research, and
  • engaging partners and developing leaders who will help us address some of the world's most vexing challenges in health care.
