About Dr. Jarvis:
Charles R. Thomas, Jr., M.D. is the inaugural Chair and Chief of the Department of Radiation Oncology & Applied Sciences. Dr. Thomas is a 1979 graduate of Dartmouth College. In addition to leading the department, he is a Professor of Medicine at Geisel and has served as Associate Director for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at the Dartmouth Cancer Center. He joined Geisel and Dartmouth Health in September 2021, coming from Oregon health & Science University where he was the Chair of the Department of Radiation Medicine. His professional interests include clinical and translational cancer research, particularly in developing therapeutic clinical trials for gastrointestinal and thoracic solid tumors. He is also deeply involved in mentorship and strategies to increase diversity in cancer medicine.
