First, the speakers will describe the development of DOMINIQ (Department of Medicine’s Interactive Navigator for Inquiries & Queries), a secure chatbot that simplifies access to policies in finance, HR, academic affairs, IT, and more. Next, presenters will examine how workflows in research administration, clinical revenue, and faculty productivity can be improved by applying AI to Python scripting, complex Excel formulas, and MS Power Automate. Lastly, the speakers will delve into an innovative use case where leaders engage in reflective dialogue with GPT models to enhance their interpersonal communication skills. Overall, this session will provide practical insights into how AI can drive productivity and improvements across various operational areas. This topic was previously presented at the recent Group on Business Affairs (GBA) and Group on Institutional Planning (GIP) Joint Spring Meeting.

Delivered over 15 months, the program’s curriculum is taught using a blended approach of peer learning, interactive presentations by experts in their field, paired mentors, independent project work, delivered in face-to-face and virtual meetings. We’re seeking brief proposals for a CBME-focused workshop — From Framework to Function: Advancing CBE in Undergraduate Medical Education — taking place Nov. 1. Showcase how you’re using the new UME Foundational Competencies in curriculum design, assessment, advising, or faculty development.
