The NCFDD Update: March 2023 Edition

Springtime is just around the corner, which means it’s a great time to start planting the seeds that will grow to become the plan for summer term. NCFDD has summer program offerings to support faculty, postdocs, and graduate students in making successful transitions throughout their careers.

As a reminder, the Faculty Success Program Early Bird registration is open, but spots are filling up fast!

We also have three other great programs running this summer: Post-Tenure Pathfinders, WriteNow Access, and Teaching Toolkit Program.

Below is a little overview of each program and some ways you can spread the word on your campus.

Post-Tenure Pathfinders: May 15 - Aug 6, 2023
Who can participate:
Post-Tenure Pathfinders is for any FSP alumni that have already received tenure or will be receiving tenure in the near future.

About the program:
This 12-week program is hosted on WriteNow (like FSP) and was designed to provide a space for faculty to pause, engage in a discovery process about what’s possible in their next chapter, and build the support network necessary to move forward. This is an intimate group setting that includes 1-1 coaching sessions with an NCFDD-Certified Coach.

Registration details:
Early Bird registration ($300 off) is currently open and ends on Mar 15, 2023. Open registration will end on Mar 24, 2023. Opportunities for sponsorship are available. WriteNow Access: May 15 - Aug 6, 2023
Who can participate:
WriteNow Access is exclusively for graduate students and postdocs.

About the program:
This 12-week program is hosted on WriteNow (like FSP) and provides graduate students and postdocs access to the writing, tracking, and accountability tools to help them accomplish their goals.

Registration details:
Graduate students and postdocs can register for the program now, and can save $50 if they register by April 18. Sponsorship opportunities are available. If you would like to sponsor faculty in this program, please contact WriteNow@FacultyDiversity.org or reply to this email.

Teaching Toolkit Program: July 17 - Aug 11, 2023
Who can participate:
Teaching Toolkit Program Faculty who want to be more efficient and effective with their teaching, specifically:

  • Early-career faculty and faculty who are relatively new to teaching
  • Faculty who are returning to the classroom
  • Administrators who are transitioning back to faculty positions
  • Faculty who plan to design a new course

About the program:
Teaching Toolkit Program is a 4-week course focused on these key topics: course structure,efficient and effective grading, preparing for and facilitating engaging, inclusive classes, and time management techniques.

Registration details:
Early Bird Registration ($200 off) will run from March 27 - May 5, 2023.
