Upcoming AAMC Faculty Development Opportunities

Transforming Biomedical Research and Academic Faculty through Leadership Opportunities, Training, and Mentorship (TRANSFORM)
The TRANSFORM program aims to improve the diversity of the biomedical research workforce by enhancing the retention, promotion, and attainment of institutional leadership roles for faculty from groups historically under-represented in science and medicine (designated URM). TRANSFORM’s goal is to ensure that faculty at the associate professor level acquire the skills and experiences needed to advance to and thrive in more senior faculty and leadership positions. Expanding on the content from the AAMC’s Mid-Career Minority Faculty Leadership Development Seminar, TRANSFORM’s longitudinal curriculum includes executive coaching, mentoring, skills training and a partnered leadership project targeting an institutional problem or opportunity.
Applications open April 3, 2023 and are due June 12, 2023. Visit icre.pitt.edu/transform for more information and instructions on how to apply.

Grant Writers Coaching Group for NIH Awards
June 22nd, 2023
Fairmont El San Juan
San Juan, Puerto Rico

The AAMC’s Grant Writers Coaching Group for NIH Awards program supports minority faculty in writing successful grants. The program is designed for faculty who are actively working on an NIH Career Development (K or R) proposal. The goal of the Grant Writers Coaching Group is to complement existing support that the faculty member has to submit a competitive proposal. This program is comprised of four primary activities: (1) orientation webinar; (2) virtual workshop; (3) individual consultation; and (4) virtual coach and peer review sessions. The workshop kicks off our 2023 Minority Faculty Leadership Development Seminar. Join us for both at the Fairmont El San Juan in San Juan, Puerto Rico, starting June 22 through June 25. Keep an eye on your inbox for announcements about speakers, networking, and coaching opportunities.
Applications open April 18, 2023 and are due May 8, 2023. Visit the program application to apply: https://web.cvent.com/event/dd14a432-73a5-492b-b675-773d00e2e258/summary?locale=en-US&tm=8rusQZ7wuuetB_yECDqlOLj-myrbpXgPIZRTG0UAhtY
