Olivia Siroonian, MPH

Olivia Siroonian is a Research Project Coordinator in the Coproduction Laboratory at The Dartmouth Institute. Her role includes supporting health services research projects as well as quality improvement. Her previous work focused mainly on maternal substance use and mental health. Her interests in health equity, health care access, and quality inspired her to work on a variety of public health programs and research around the world. These range from prenatal wellness studies striving to understand the influence substance use, psychological well-being, and access to care have on pregnancy to nutrition policy’s impact on maternal and child health outcomes. She worked on projects for the Vermont Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) that included community engagement initiatives to inform federal policy changes, promoting the inclusion of cultural preferences, and centering the voice of communities often underrepresented to improve the program's reach. She most recently traveled to Australia to gain insight as to how other countries conduct research activities and translate findings into meaningful community-based initiatives. Specifically, she was based out of the Matilda Centre, University of Sydney, to work on projects relating to the impact alcohol has on the brain over the lifespan as well as fetal alcohol spectrum disorder. Olivia received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Vermont and a Master of Public Health from UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health.
